The Story Behind the Name
The name "Midnight Sun" comes from a simple observation: some of the best technical work happens late at night. When the Slack notifications quiet down and the calendar clears, that's when deep focus becomes possible.
There's something about working under the glow of monitors in a quiet room, the digital equivalent of the midnight sun, that enables the kind of concentrated thinking that complex systems require.
We've channeled that energy into Midnight Sun Labs. With over 15 years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps, and security, we bring battle-tested expertise to every project. From startups to enterprise, we've seen what works and what doesn't.
Where We've Been
Our experience spans the full spectrum of technical challenges. We've worked as software engineers building products from scratch, as DevOps engineers scaling infrastructure for high-traffic applications, as cloud architects designing systems that handle millions of requests, and as security engineers focused on hardening systems targeted by nation-state actors.
This includes time at one of the largest tech companies in the world, where we worked hands-on with cloud infrastructure at scale and gained deep insight into how cloud services actually work under the hood. That experience informs everything we build. We don't just use cloud services, we understand them and the business problems they are trying to solve.
